My week had started with the non awakening of my computer, also looking at my laptop thinking, I'm still awaiting the part required to charge it that had been ordered and still not arrived.
I contacted the people that deal with my computer and it was sadly taken away in a big grey box, before it entered the box, my computer lost its foot and we could not find the screw, the courier locked it up in the box and with a smile looked at me and said ' Don't worry it will come back like new' of which he turned around and stumbled up three steps, my heart jumped, he held his composure, smiled and off he went, me with the thought of having to have no computer for three weeks *sad face*.
What has this picture got to do with computers, it has not!
On the morning of my computer deciding not to respond my mot was due for my car, off it went with me being confident that it will pass as it usually does, my friend returns two hours later I opened the sheet while my friend stood there and it had failed *shock* 1 gaitor was split on the passenger side, Don't worry he said, i thought i've heard that this morning already, 'it won't cost much and will only take a couple of hours to do, I will be able to fit it in on Monday', Great I said, will see you then.
Over the weekend i recided to do a little reading, my children had visited, friends had been around and on Fathers Day I spent my time reading the memoirs of a 92 year old man who was a POW in Italy between 1942-43 sat on the patio, glorious day watching my dogs rush around the garden and diving in and out of there pool, most relaxing day.
Monday came and unfortunately my friend told me that he had a chest infection and was unable to do the car and rearranged another day, which I accepted as I always have full trust in my friend and no he would not let me down unless there was a proper reason.
Bonus Day! My laptop only had a loose connection to the charger on the side, my Son being that he was bored decided that he would take it apart and look at it, now the computer shop would not touch it because of its make they were not willing to touch it in case they buggered it up, mmmm won't be going there again, confidence lacking.
So hence go forth my Son with all my tool boxes out and the Kitchen becoming like a workshop, we managed working together to get to the connection, find some solder in my box of tricks, melted down in an old frying pan and using a kitchen knife I gently dropped the solder onto the point of wire that my Son had stripped and connected and Walah! it held, Laptop up and running,, Oh the joy!
The following day the part arrived, typical, and therefore was properly placed into possition but Father and Son bonding was pleasurable.
Wednesday came and still no joy about the car, but it didnt matter it was the day of my mates 50th, I really needed this time to enjoy myself with friends. We all met together at the Restaraunt and sat around the table drinking, laughing and enjoying ourselves and to my amazement I noticed they served Italian meals, I was in my element, three courses down a few drinks ended a grand day with no worries.
So today my friend came to pick up the car, Yippee! I thought, finally, untill we started talking and my smile was slowly curving into the sadness, he had explained that there was no problem in getting the work done, but the garage that my car had the mot done at has gone on holiday for a week, hence work done but still no mot, 'Im not paying for another mot test' I ranted, and with calmness he replied 'Don't worry', i'm getting a bit fed up with this don't worry comment! 'he won't charge anymore when he gets back, things maybe different come Monday'
Is it.. Have car will travel.......have problems more like.
Makes you wounder what things we rely on nowadays hey!
